Discorso!!! discorso!!!!

Vi ricordate l'alza bandiera del lunedì mattina? Cantare l'inno e poi noiosi discorsi da parte di studenti o insegnanti? Ebbene lunedì prossimo uno di quei noiosi studenti sarò io!!!!!! Ovviamente ciò non mi è passato in testa di mia spontanea volontà, mi è stato imposto.
Hanno definito poco chiaramente l'argomento del mio discorso: "Boh, scrivi perchè sei venuta in Cina o qualcosa del genere". Così io ho partorito questo piccolo testo che vi pubblico in anteprima...non mi piace molto, ma non avevo altre idee. Ma in fondo devo solo leggerlo davanti a più di 2500 persone, cosa vuoi che sia!!!!!

I'm an exchange student from Italy and I'm going to spend all my school term here, in China. You probably may ask me: “Why have you decided to come exactly in China”? I think for mere curiosity. In my country we know China especially from an economical point of view: newspapers, TV news and also documentaries often talk about the growth of China's economical and financial power but what we really know about this big, populated and rich-of history country? Almost nothing. So I wanted to know more and I decided to come here for dealing with the way of life of Chinese people and of course: “Wǒ yě xiǎng xuéxí Hanyǔ, dànshì hěn nán”.

Now friends in Italy are asking me how China is and also here, questions like: “Do you like China”? “What do you thing about it”? Are really ordinary for me. But it's always difficult to find a precise answer. With a only a 2 month experience I can not judge an entire country or consider all aspects of Chinese life.

For now I can only say that I'm glad to be in Xiamen, a nice, clear and safe city and I'm glad to be in this school that gives me the opportunity to join different activities and especially permits me to go trough the life of Chinese students which is really different from that of the Italian's one. Of course I have to thank my host family, many teaches and my class, class 15 for the help they are giving me. I'm confident I will enjoy this year because there are more and more thing worth discovering and appreciating and I hope I'll return to Italy with something more, with a piece of China in my heart.
